Dr. Faye McNair-Knox

Dr. Faye McNair-Knox departed this life to claim her heavenly home. She was a servant-leader and community icon known for her valiant efforts to engage and empower East Palo Alto residents to attain and maintain a good quality of life.
Dr. Faye was born in Munich, Germany to a Mississippi Army Chaplain and a Georgia teacher. She graduated from Ravenswood High School and earned her Masters’ and a doctorate degree from Stanford University. Honored as ‘Woman of the Year’ by California 21st Assembly District, the County of San Mateo and the City of East Palo Alto, she served since 2004 as Executive Director of One East Palo Alto Neighborhood Improvement Initiative.
Dr. Faye is survived by her devoted daughters, Halili Knox, Rashida Knox, Muisi-Kongo Malonga and her beloved grandsons, Kiminou Knox and Matsoua Malonga. She is also survived by her dear sisters Dr. Corann Withers, Joyce K. McNair and Rev. Teirrah McNair, her brother Joseph D. McNair, her brother-in-love, Meredith Withers and a host of cherished cousins, nephews, nieces, friends and colleagues. Her vibrant, loving personality captivated many and she will be immeasurably missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends and family are invited to a ’Royal Celebration of Life’ on Saturday, October 27th at 11AM at Abundant Life Christian Fellowship, 2440 Leghorn Street, Mountain View, California.
